Civic Involvement & Our Gardens

The club funds, plants and maintains many of the floral beds in the city's parks, as well
as providing and maintaining the Mitchell Street Bridge baskets and the potted flowers
at the Petoskey District Library.

Our Civic Involvement includes:

  • Planting the city's raised beds in the downtown area

  • Co-sponsor Arbor Day with the City of Petoskey

  • Participating in the city’s July 4th parade

  • Exhibit in the Emmet County Fair each summer

  • Interface with the schools on gardening projects

  • Donate books to the Petoskey District Library on gardening

  • We promote native plants in plant sales, guest speakers, tours, and in the club's Monarch Way Station Garden

We are members of the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce. Through the Michigan
Garden Clubs, Inc., we support scholarships for students to study gardening-related
curriculum in colleges.
